The national scholarship programme “For Women in Science”, implemented by L’Oreal Adria and the Croatian UNESCO Committee within the Ministry of Culture, published the names of four recipients of the 2020 scholarship. The scholarship is aearded to young female scientists who contributed to science and the creation of “knowledge society”.
We are extremely delighted that two of the four grantees are doctoral students funded through the Croatian Science Foundation’s “Young Researchers’ Career Development Project – Training New Doctoral Students”. Both are employed as Research Assistants at the Ruđer Bošković Institute: Lidija Kanižaj is mentored by Dr Marijana Jurić, while Nataša Vučemilović-Alagić‘s mentor is Dr Ana-Sunčana Smith. The remaining two grantees – Antonia Ressler from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of Zagreb and Anamarija Šestak from the Faculty of Medicine, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek are currently or were team members of project funded by the Foundation.
The committee that decided on the recipients of the grant comprised of well-respected members of the Croatian academic community and was headed by Professor Zvonko Kusić, F.C.A.
