Experts from the Faculty of Kinesiology alert about drop in physical activirty of young people following lockdown

A team of scientists from the Faculty of Kinesiology of the University of Zagreb (Josip Karuc, mag. cin., doc. dr. sc. Maroje Sorić, doc. dr. sc. Ivan Radman, prof. dr. sc. Marjeta Mišigoj-Duraković) published a paper in the international journal Sustainability, in which they highlight an alarmingly substantial drop in physical activity of 20-year-olds in Zagreb following the introduction of restrictive measures in March and April 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The paper was written as part of the project IP-2016-06-9926 “Croatian Physical Activity in Adolescence Longitudinal Study (CRO-PALS)”, whose Principal Investigator is Professor Marjeta Mišigoj-Duraković, PhD, MD

We would particularly like to highlight that first authorship of the paper was credited to Josip Karuc, doctoral student employed through the Foundation’s “Young Researchers’ Career Development Project – Training New Doctoral Students” under the mentorship of Asst. Prof. Maroje Sorić, PhD, MD.

The paper has been published in Open Access and is available here.
