Call for Proposals "BlueBio 2020"

The BlueBio network (ERA-NET Cofund in Blue Bioeconomy – Unlocking the Potential of Aquatic Bioresources) has published the second Call for Project Proposals.

The Call is targeted on supply systems in the blue bioeconomy: logistics and transportation – from harvest to processing.

The scope of the call is to fund projects that facilitate the transfer (i.e. logistics, preservation and transportation) of bio-resources from harvest (catch or production) to processing to ensure e.g. traceability, quality, sustainability and the necessary quantity or pre-processing of the bio-resources for conversion into products for the market. This entails also the supply systems to primary producers for aspects affecting the bio-resources as it moves further in the value chain.

Call participants: 15 partners from 13 countries secured EUR 11 million for the present Call. Funds have been secured by the following countries: Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Romania and Spain. The amount of HRZZ’s contribution is EUR 100,000. All projects are open to partners from all countries, as far as they bring their own funds.

Application and evaluation procedure: Project proposals are submitted by project consortia. Each consortium must include at least three partners from three countries and at least one industry partner. Proposals are submitted in two stages (short proposals are submitted first, while extended proposals are submitted only upon invitation).

The consortium coordinator submits the (short and extended) proposal on forms provided at the link below. All documents related to the Call as well as a Partner Search tool are available at the following link: https://bluebioeconomy.eu/bluebio-call-announcement/.

Submission deadline for short proposals is 14 September 2020 @ 13.00 CET.

Leaders of Croatian research teams within project consortia are obliged to submit additional documentation to the Croatian Science Foundation not later than 2 days after the whole consortium has submitted their proposal. The documents are available on the page Open calls.
