Announcing Career Path Seminar #11

The Association of Croatian-American Professionals (ACAP) and the Croatian Science Foundation are resuming the Career Path Seminar series for young scientists, which features excellent Croatian scientists in Croatia and abroad, who, by presenting their career stories, want to inspire young researchers in Croatia and guide them in their own path.

We would hereby like to announce the eleventh Career Path Seminar, which will be held on Tuesday, 15 February at 17.00 CET via Zoom. This seminar will feature three Croatian experts working in the field of artificial intelligence.

Language of the seminar will be Croatian.

Speakers:

  • Dr Ivana Balažević, PhD – BSc in Computer Science at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb; MSc in Computer Science at the Technische Universität Berlin and MSc in Data Science at the University of Edinburgh; PhD at the University of Edinburgh on the topic of seminar learning representations of entities and relations from knowledge graph data. Current position: Research Scientist at Google DeepMind
  • Mislav Malenica – graduated from Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb; previously Research Assistant at Ruđer Bošković Institute. Current position: Founder and CEO of Mindsmiths, President of CroAI Association
  • Dr Bojan Tunguz, PhD – B.S. in Physics and an M.S. in Applied Physics at Stanford University. Ph.D. in Physics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Current position: Machine Learning Specialist at NVIDIA.
