Results of the Call QuantERA 2021

In May 2021, the QuantERA network (ERA-NET Cofund in Quantum Technologies) published its third Call for Proposals in the field of quantum information and communication sciences, co-funded by the European Commission. The Call was directed at two main themes: (1) Quantum Phenomena and Resources, and (2) Applied Quantum Science (AQS).

The QuantERA Call 2021, launched by 36 funding organisations from 27 countries, attracted 128 transnational research teams applying for over 132 M EUR. Following a two-stage evaluation process, 39 project proposals have been recommended for funding by the Call Steering Committee, which is the highest number of full proposals recommended for funding ever achieved in the QuantERA programme. The success rate of the call reaches over 30%.

For the first time ever, the list of approved projects contains a Croatian research team. Dr Neven Šantić, PhD, from the Institute of Physics will be leading the Croatian team of the project NImSoQ: New Imaging and control Solutions for Quantum processors and metrology. Congratulations to him and all laureates!
